The term machining summarizes a group of different production processes in which a raw part is formed into a specific geometric shape by the mechanic removal of material. Subsequent machining processes respectively substractive processes are CNC-turning, milling, grinding and drilling. Mentioned procedures – which have been in use since many years – are still of highest industrial significance.

Advances and

applications

Producing parts from CNC controlled machining is a wellknown process with a vast variety of applications. Almost any geometric form can be manufactured efficiently with modern machine tools. Components produced by machining show a high quality of finish, tight tolerances and best mechanical resistance. Typical fields of application are machine- and plant construction, aerospace engineering as well as medical engineering. Both prototypes and large-volume quantities are manufactured with machining processes.

How it works at

up2parts

Up2parts makes use of high-quality 5-axis-milling-centres of the companies Hermle and Kern Microtechnik. Partly our centres are fully automated with an exchange of pallets or robotic handling. In the segment of CNC-turning we have short- and longstock turning machines available, in the field of grinding we produce with machinery from company Struder.
